In St. Thomas, USVI, you can shop for souvenirs inside centuries-old warehouses that used to supply sailors with molasses, rum, and spices, or meander through the modern promenade at Yacht Haven Grande marina. Today, Calwood is one of the only two rum distilleries in the British Virgin Islands making 80 proof rum from pure sugar cane without any preservatives.

Jost Van Dyke is home to two of the most popular beach bars in the Virgin Island: Foxy’s on Great Harbour, and the Soggy Dollar Bar on White Bay. Few places in the world are better for sipping drinks, taking a refreshing swim, and then dancing well into the night. Great Harbour is particularly popular on New Year’s Eve, when countless boaters jam the local watering holes.
